Dr. Henry Chu is an Associate Profesor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He received his BASc degree in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) from the University of Waterloo in 2005, and his MASc and PhD degrees in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto in 2007 and 2011 under the spervision of Prof. James K. Mills.
He was the recipient of the top-ranked Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS) from 2009 to 2011, and the pre-approved candidate of the Industrial R&D Fellowships (IRDF) program from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) in 2012. Before joining PolyU in 2015, he worked with Prof. Dong Sun as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the City University of Hong Kong through the International Transition Team Scheme. His research interests include Soft Continuum Robots, Vision-based Control and Automation, Artificial Intelligence, Collaborative Robots, and Mechatronic Systems.
Currently a postdoc fellow with the Dept of Electronic Engineering, CUHK.
Research interests: soft robots, surgical robotic systems, modeling, motion planning and control.
Currently an engineer at Apple Inc., Shanghai.
